You must base your work on L. Frank Baum's 1900 book, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and not the 1939 MGM movie.

This means:

  • NO ruby red shoes.

  • NO wicked witches with green skin.

  • NO bubble travel by Glinda.

  • Specific costume/design choices of movie portrayals (ie. Blue gingham dress for Dorothy).

  • You can find the original novel via Project Gutenberg to see what is specific to the book. This site might also be a good reference.

SUBMISSION Due Date: February 28th, 2026, midnight in your own time zone

  • You will find out if you made it into the anthology in April, 2026. Please wait until the end of April before sending any follow-up emails about acceptance. We get a high volume of submissions and it takes time to thoroughly consider all of them.
